Major Wood is the first figure named on the January 1994 sell sheet, and the only one listed by unit designation rather than archetype — Infantry Unit, where the other five carry role descriptions. Whether that reflects a production order or an intended lead figure is not recorded.

The sell sheet lists a field pack among planned accessories. No accessory of any kind appears in the September termination inventory, and none has surfaced since.

He is also the only figure whose catchphrase appears twice in surviving material: once on the sell sheet, and once in the June quality notice, where it is used as an inspection standard rather than a line of copy.
