NFT Purchase Guide & Disclaimers
1. What You Are Buying: Digital Collectibles (NFTs)
When you purchase a digital asset from Stiff Competition, you are purchasing a unique, cryptographically secured Non-Fungible Token (NFT) minted on the Polygon blockchain via our integration partner, Thirdweb. This purchase represents a digital collectible and tokenized piece of art. It is not a financial instrument, security, share, or investment product.
2. Instant Delivery and Waiver of Cancellation Rights
In accordance with the UK Consumer Contracts Regulations and international digital commerce laws, digital content delivered instantly is handled differently than physical goods. By finalizing your purchase at checkout, you give your explicit consent for immediate performance—meaning the automated minting and delivery process to your email or digital wallet begins instantly.
Consequently, you acknowledge that you waive your statutory 14-day right to cancellation or a refund the exact moment the delivery or minting process commences. All digital asset and NFT sales are final.
3. Financial Disclaimers and Investment Risk Warning
Our NFTs are created and sold strictly as digital art, collectibles, and brand merchandise for your personal enjoyment. They are not intended as investments.
We make no promises, guarantees, or representations regarding the future value, price, or marketability of these digital assets.
The digital asset and crypto markets are highly volatile. Past performance or interest is not an indicator of future value.
You assume full financial responsibility for your purchase and acknowledge that these items should be bought for their intrinsic artistic and collectible value alone.
4. Blockchain Transactions and Network Fees
All transactions on the blockchain require network transaction fees (commonly known as "gas fees") to process. While your initial purchase is handled securely through our Shopify checkout, any future transfers, secondary market sales (such as on OpenSea), or on-chain interactions you choose to perform will be subject to these network fees, which are entirely outside the control of Stiff Competition Ltd.
5. Intellectual Property and Usage Rights
Your purchase of a Stiff Competition NFT grants you a limited, personal, non-commercial digital license to own, display, and transfer that specific tokenized artwork.
You do not acquire the underlying copyright, trademarks, commercial distribution rights, or ability to modify the brand characters, logos, or assets.
All intellectual property rights remain strictly owned by Stiff Competition Ltd and its licensors.
6. Technical Requirements and Wallet Security
You do not need prior crypto experience or an existing digital wallet to buy from us. Following your purchase, you will receive a link to claim your artwork into a wallet created from your email address and accessed using a one-time code sent to that address. There is no seed phrase for you to record and no external application to install.
If you prefer to use a crypto wallet you already own, you may do so.
Where you use your own wallet, you are solely responsible for the security of that wallet, its private keys and its recovery phrase.
Stiff Competition Ltd will never ask you for a private key or recovery phrase. Treat any such request as fraudulent.
Retain access to the email address used at purchase. It is how your wallet is accessed.
We are not liable for losses resulting from compromised wallets, lost access to your email account, or unauthorised third-party access to your digital assets.
Frequently Asked Questions
Do I need a crypto wallet to buy an NFT here?
No. Checkout is an ordinary card payment. After purchase you receive a link to claim your artwork into a wallet created from your email address, accessed with a one-time code sent to that address. There is no seed phrase to manage and no app to install. If you already have your own crypto wallet, you can use that instead.
Are the action figures real? Can I buy the toys?
No. No physical action figure exists or ships. The 1994 toy line is the fictional premise behind the artwork. What we sell is NFT digital collectible artwork and print-on-demand merchandise — t-shirts, hoodies, mugs, tote bags, art prints and notebooks.
What blockchain are the NFTs on?
Polygon Mainnet, using the TokenERC721 standard. Minting is handled by Thirdweb at the point of purchase. The contract address is 0xBB9a30909396A055c64F2e3FB0E9C299B3fdbd4C, listed as "Stiff Competition: 1994" with the symbol STIFF.
Can I resell an NFT I bought here?
Yes. OpenSea is the secondary market for the collection. Note that any transfer or secondary sale involves network fees outside our control, as covered in section 4 above.
How many characters are there?
Six: Major Wood, The Rear Admiral, Hammerin' Hanky, The Grip, The Velvet Python and Slick Willy. That is the full cast.
Where does merchandise ship from and how long does it take?
Merchandise is made to order and routed to the closest regional print-on-demand centre — UK, USA, Canada, Europe, Australia or New Zealand. Allow 2 to 5 business days for production, then typically 3 to 7 business days in transit. A tracking link is emailed when your package is dispatched.
